No, we fly at the Modelair's RC club which has two flying locations. One in the Dallas/Grimes area and the other, located in Bondurant. I'm the VP of the club and if you're interested, you could either attend a monthly meeting, or come out and meet some of the guys. We have a January 1 Penguin Fun Fly scheduled at our Bondurant location.

No, I moved here to Iowa about 5 years ago and by then, the airshow was done. One of the club members was kind enough to loan me a 1987 video of the show and it just makes me wish I had seen it.

Nice video. Did you ever go to see the Ankeny, Iowa air show? They had a scale model recreation of WWII that had an absolutley huge model B-29 Enola Gay fly over and drop a bomb. Was always an impressive show, wish they still did it.

Thanks red, I enjoy …
Thanks red, I enjoy flying warbirds, sport planes, and aerobatic models. You are correct about some planes flying just like their full-scale counterpart. It's a shame when I see a new flyer come out with a cub that some hobby store has sold him (or worse, a warbird), thinking they can fly the model. Cubs tend to be squirrely on the ground just like their full-size big brothers and warbirds require special handling as well.

red33410 @ 12:00 am

Yep! These pilots …
Yep! These pilots did well - no crashes. At an RC airshow here in S. Florida some years ago, some poor soul had one of those "leading edge" german fighter planes with the prop in the front and back and he drilled it into the ground on takeoff. The plane's name eludes me now. So sad. No idea how much it cost him to manufacture that plane. In real life, those planes may have had the same issue as well. These pilots were ready-to-fly, however. Well done video.
