what's the pricing …
what's the pricing for the machine shown?

I apologise as I …
I apologise as I thought this machine was of French manufacture called 'Croma' .
I also now realise this machine is not for mass production of insulation sheets but EPS columns .Which makes it a good buy if you are in the construction industry or advertising .
You would be able to make an 8' high x 4' wide imitation phone with this machine for exhibition work .

The burn off is …
The burn off is minimal, and could vary with wire temperature. The wire should be black with a slight orange/red glow for optimal cuts.

2 cutting wires are standard!

If you are a …
If you are a weekend hobbyist, you might consider the one you are mentioning that makes wings.

The design of this machine has the user in mind with a very nice hand held control system that enables programming tapered fluted columns without the computer and high speed cutting with 2 wires.

It has the optional attachments that enable many more creative possibilities, like tapered rope twist columns, domed ceiling inserts and planter molds, and shop space flexibility with cuts up to 18' long.

One end of the bowl …
One end of the bowl came out sooner because of the offset wires.

If there were "drag" it would be noticed in the wire bending near the connection terminals. Bending could occur if the wire is not hot enough, or the speed is too fast. Moisture in the block of foam also can effect the speed and heat needed to make a clean cut.

If you'd like to visit one of our facilities or a customer's shop let me know and I'll set you up to see it work in person so you can be the judge with your own eyes.

Also there is a …
Also there is a French site showing you how to make EPS wings on home made equipment costing less than £200 , using stepper motors and a variable transformer .The thin wires used by many in the EPS industry are 1/16 " thick and the thick wires 3/16" thick . Also at the end of this video look at "The Drag" of the thick wire making the "Bowl" one end comes out before the other which means depending on the material or humidity of the room you will NEVER get two identical bowls ! FACT .

What DO you see in …
What DO you see in burn off then, cutting the sheets at 8' x 4' x 1" thickness ?
If the blocks supplied are 97" x 49" x 25" thick.
These machines are being sold through agents from all over the bloody globe . There IS one in York I,ve seen it working ! Don't forget , unless you specify, it comes with only one cutting wire !
JustMakingComments ,..indeed….are you in the trade or having a wind up ?

JustMakingComments @ 12:00 am

Kevin, I don't see …
Kevin, I don't see any 3" in burn off here.

hotwirecut @ 12:00 am

We have not sold …
We have not sold this to anyone in York, UK. You must be thinking of another foam cutter brand.
Just curious, why such a fondness for this Italian brand you keep mentioning? Do you run their machines? Are they faster or have better features than the machine shown here in this video? It seems like you are defending them without explanation.

hotwirecut @ 12:00 am

The wire is .014", …
The wire is .014", 27 gauge, .035cm.
I haven't heard comments like yours from anyone who actually owns this machine.

kevinleslieedge @ 12:00 am

It is all very well …
It is all very well stating the damned obvious but what is the thickness of the wires used to create these unrealistic speeds ? For example if your wires are 1/8" thick and one is cutting 8'x4'x1" boards out of a 2' thick block ! You will lose 3" in burn off and at say £3.20p per board you have lost £9.60p in profit . I repeat this is a very bad French designed machine that does not sit well in the EPS market . Buy it AND YOU WILL REGRET IT .

kevinleslieedge @ 12:00 am

It is an overpriced …
It is an overpriced oversized piece of junk . I do not know of one UK purchaser of this machine that would buy the same again . There is a chap in York who bought one which now stands in the corner of his factory collecting dust . Technodanamica are an unbeatable Italian EPS machinery manufacturing outfit .

hotwirecut @ 12:00 am

Also the hand held …
Also the hand held control pendant has a materials selection feature that allows you to preset the cut speed for the foam type you will be using.

I hope that clears up your confusion.

hotwirecut @ 12:00 am

Many people are …
Many people are cutting 1 lb expanded polystyrene for industrial design projects, architectural foam elements on buildings that get coated with a synthetic stucco, etc.

This machine also cuts 2 lb per cubic foot (denser) expanded polystyrene at 35 inches per minute, and it cuts extruded polystyrene (blue and pink boards) at 25 inches per minute.

hotwirecut @ 12:00 am

This machine is …
This machine is very well designed for it's intended purpose.

It is designed and built in the USA.

As the video suggested, the speed is 55"/min in 1 lb per cubic foot expanded polystyrene blocks.

kevinleslieedge @ 12:00 am

Bad French designed …
Bad French designed machine . The best machines made by Technodanamica of Italy ..Kevin edge . Leeds UK.
The speed shown is not for high density blocks , why misslead the viewer ? It is cutting very low density blocks , why confuse ?
