Cork Motor runs on Lithium Ion. Adults will appreciate this.
This "cork motor" (running on Lithium Ion batteries) started quite the motor revolution in electric Model Airplane flying.
From Mr. Herbert's Science class comes a bit of history. When I tell people that I've been flying model airplanes in the dark for 27 years, they think that is no big thing.
Well it is, because we only learned to fly real planes approximately 100 years ago! There were not LEDs or Light Tubes 27 years ago, let alone that many dependable RC systems.
None of this technology has been around forever, as most young people think today.
But young folks also think cell phones and the computer has always been around forever too!
Just a bit of history. Thanks for watching.

I use outrunner …
I use outrunner motors on my Model airplanes as you may have seen on my Channel, and Believe me the outrunners have way more torque and can really pack the power. It is because the timing is electrically controlled and there are no brushes for friction. They dont use as much power either, and can have a hollow shaft to put a sliding rod in to adjust pitch both ways of a prop.
i wonder what type …
i wonder what type of el. motor is more efficient.could it be the 'outrunner',because there is less friction and weight at the rotor?
Correct~
Correct~

"i wont tell what it sfrom" haha i bet that motor is from a paper shredder since it has a reversing switch, i can also see a worm gear on the shaft.

i'm 14 jr old, i'm flying r/c planes for 1,5 jr now, when i came to the club, evryone talked about, microprocessors and brushless engines with lithinum polimer battry's. i grew up with computers, although a like the old stuff, i cant understand how the new works, so it's boring, the old is far more intresting. i built my own steam engine, so your wrong with adults will appreciate it, i think i appreciate it even more!!

Thanks Professor Dave! A very educating and fun video. I'd never seen either a cork motor or an out-runner motor before. Keep up the GREAT work sir! 5 stars.
