Long EZ RC model airplane crashes on maiden flight

This is what happens if you run your receiver antenna too close to the aileron extensions and ignore a marginal range-check before the maiden flight

Why don't RC systems ever glitch *up*?

Stupid question …
Stupid question from one who's never flown an RC plane: When my brother flew RC planes, he built the plane so that if it crashed, the wings would detach. Otherwise, no significant damage. Is that possible with these bigger models?

i never said i wasn't a noob. but I'm on an intermediate CCPM heli now, the Blade CP Pro. The only reason I used my old co axil is because I obviously can't fit a tail boom in a coca cola bottle. shesh

Not a lot of …
Not a lot of sympathy here.. I see a bunch of shortcuts… Improper tuning.. Yanking a pusher off the ground instead of building up proper speed, and finally staying in the throttle when they should have come out. Not sure I buy the "radio range" issue, unless it was set to fail-safe full down elevator.. It was wobbling up and down from the start.

Sorry but these …
Sorry but these planes have a shape that only the builder could love they is Ugly all the way to the tail
PS nice clip but sad it was totalled

On canard airplanes …
On canard airplanes: Keep the stick all the way back during take off run and in the air until air speed builds up, then slowly ease the stick forward. These airplane wont stall, but they need all the lift they can get from the canard during take off and climbout. C/G MUST be correct.

It wasn't mine - but I do have one. I'm building a pulsejet engine for mine and hope to have a video of its first flight up in a couple of weeks or so. Check other vids on my channel to see some of my pulsejet stuff.

2.4 ghz. You will …
2.4 ghz. You will never have to worry about radio issues again.

floatorsink @ 3:12 am

A shame about the …
A shame about the crash.Rule Number One on pusher type airplanes.Because you don't have prop wash over the rudder and elevator, you must keep it stuck to the ground until speed is well up.
Rule Number One for maiden flights. If things start to go wrong, they will only get much worst, chop the throttle, have a beer and try again.

sheldonholy @ 3:12 am

too right!
too right!

sheldonholy @ 3:12 am

The servo wires/ …
The servo wires/servos will cause interference if the ariel is routed along side them, to stop this you need to put them in a non conductive tube like a pushrod outer.

KnifeEdgeCrash @ 3:12 am

not saying that …
not saying that clitch is impossible but most common error on canard is control reversal on elevator. Up elevator means the control surface goes down on the canard. I teach others to fly… very common mistake for first time canard pilots. If experienced pilot get another one. Don't fly if range test is bad. Agree 2.4 = less glitches.

Plane looked better …
