1/24 scale nitro RC

Models based on the Cox .010 nitro engine. Hand made engine management system for full control. These engines were designed for small airplanes with no throttle control or exhaust containment. This video shows a small portion of what can be achieved with these miniature engines when you can actually control them.

I only have parts and pieces now, I will throw one together and post a new video as soon as it's together.

hey y not make a …
hey y not make a video of one running complete with trans i wold like to see.

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

Send me an email …
Send me an email for prices. I use a small cpu fan for bench testing, for models without enough room for a cpu fan installed in the radiator position the exhaust manifold, long header tubes and a richer needle setting provide adequate cooling.

purplehazenils @ 12:00 am

How much would you …
How much would you charge for everything on 1:12. Doesent the engine overheat without the air flow it is designed for.

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

I do make them. I …
I do make them. I changed my page to thingsradical for one year and decide to take it down and make a new one. If you are interested please send me an email and tell me what you need, I make these parts to order. Provide as much info as possible, model type, name, manufacture name, tire size, wheel type, car or truck and intended use. Thanks for your interest.

purplehazenils @ 12:00 am

Do you sell things …
Do you sell things to be able make a 1\24 nitro car. I have already got the engine but need the rest of the stuff. I searched micro nitro rc on google but could not find your page, thanks.

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

Very cool, thanks …
Very cool, thanks for the info. I was not aware of these or the turbo plugs.

0mitur0 @ 12:00 am

They are on ebay …
They are on ebay and also davis Diesel makes them (in case you don't know about davis diesel he has a company that makes hop-up parts that will turn and 1/2 cox engine into diesel engine, e.x stronger crank shaft, a special diesel head for the plug and they also make the conversion heads. Just search up conversion head for cox or something close to that on ebay and you'll see what i mean.

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

I have never seen …
I have never seen this type of head for the .049. The reason is the smallest available glow plug has too much volume inside where the glow spring sits, this would create a loss of compression. The glow head on .051 engines and smaller have a very shallow glow spring pocket, this is made to keep the compression at usable levels. I can make a head that accepts a common type of plug, but I don't know if this type of glow plug exists. Let me know if you find one.

0mitur0 @ 12:00 am

I meant a …
I meant a conversion head like a machined glow plug head that fits regular glow plugs into it instead of cox heads like a .28 engine's glow plug.

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

I do not have the …
I do not have the parts you are looking for. I make the parts described in the video and other parts that relate to models. Just out of curiosity, what do you mean by conversion for the head for a babe bee? Thanks

0mitur0 @ 12:00 am

Hey, you don't …
Hey, you don't happen to have any cox .049 car parts do you, like the babe bee engines (pull starters, gears, or a conversion for the glow head?)i want to make a tin nitro r/c car and i already have a .049 modded black widow/babe bee type car engine with a malfunctioning pull starter, so i'm looking for any parts. (no im not new to the hobby)!

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

Yes I do, check out …
Yes I do, check out my website.

labreck12 @ 12:00 am

that is so amazing, …
that is so amazing, crazy work and in that scale is incredible
props, better than i could ever dream of doing! Do you do custom work for people?

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

Sounds like you hit …
Sounds like you hit the mini engine jackpot. Contact me if you want to do something with them.

ZergBYT @ 12:00 am

Wow! Its nice to …
Wow! Its nice to see that someone is doing something with these engines still! I know someone with a box of like 100 Cox .010 engines… I might have to snag a few just to mess around with.

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

I purchased it for …
I purchased it for about $55, back around 1990 or so. You can get a used one on ebay cheap, new ones on ebay are around $100 and up. I do not make the engine, I only make the engine management system.

gasman7777 @ 12:00 am

how much does one …
how much does one of these motors cost?

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

You are correct, …
You are correct, they don`t.

nibbler125 @ 12:00 am

if u blew out that …
if u blew out that motor ur fucked u doubt they make repair parts for them

30GB @ 12:00 am

the .049 are cheap …
the .049 are cheap like $12 us with out shipping brand new the .010 are hard to find and also the .020

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

I looked at ebay …
I looked at ebay today and found only six of these engines available, some are asking over $100. I make parts for many different engines, this video is only for the cox .010 and .020. As to your comment about cooling, I use small computer cpu fans with the cage removed, just the fan blade and motor are used, mounted in front of the engine, the engine is mounted under the hood in the same direction, just like a real car. Thank you for your interest.

30GB @ 12:00 am

yea but they still …
yea but they still sell lots of new ones on ebay and you going to need cooling for it too

ntprofile @ 12:00 am

The smallest engine …
The smallest engine equipped with engine management ( carb. and muffler) from the factory is the cox .051. This engine comes in red color and is just slightly larger than the common .049. In my experience these are very easy to tune and have a wide operating range due to 3 adjustment screws on the carb, idle, mixture and bleed screw. After initial setting and break-in period the settings can be adjusted slightly lean to achieve easy start, good idle and top end. Cox is no longer in business.

30GB @ 12:00 am

its very cheap like …
its very cheap like $20 us lol but i doint have a credit card but they doint have carbs so they run full rpm's all the time so you going have to make one your self or get a .090 to have a carb
