How to break in a Nitro RC engine Part 3
This vid is on how to start your RC truck buggy or truggy. I will walk you through using a ez starter, roto starter, bump box, tiger drive, and pull start. i will show you how to prime the kit via the fuel piping, the pipe, and other starting devices. then, at the end, I will show you that these methods really do work.
This is a ten video rc nitro break in series. The series is designed on how to guide the novice to experienced racing pro or basher on how to break in a nitro rc properly. I will teach the traxxas, new school, and my own method which is a combination of the other two. I will show the user how to prime a nitro rc engine, start the engine using a bump start box, ex starter, roto start, pull start and tiger drive devices. Then, after break in, I will go over nitro engine tuning theory and then show the tuning actally done. Hello,
I honestly have no idea how well you maintained the vehicle to know if the engine rusted out. But, there is only one way to find out! =)

Ihave a buggy(24.7)
i stopped using it 3 years ago
i want to start using it again but i dont have the pull start yet
do you think the enigine still works??
what parsts should i replace?

Yes, that will …
Yes, that will prime. Most cars do not have that though.
ok so on my truck …
ok so on my truck my gas tank has lieka button kinda thing going on. so it still primes it right
The idle method is …
The idle method is still used and that is fine. It works for some. The top pros used to do the idle method and have since moved on to heat cycling which is what I describe in vid 5 and show in vids 6,7, and 8. Ultimately, the engine is your property and yours to do with as you please. There is a manual and the manufacturer describes their preferred methods. If you deviate from that then you could void the warranty, despite the pros recommendations, and it is your responsibility to choose.
all i had to do to …
all i had to do to break mine in is to put a hair drier over the engine and let it heat up
then i had to idol it for a while

hey i just recently got a xtm x-cellerator nitro truck and i never used ne of the break in methods i just started it up and went all out with it and i kept noticing when i wuld full throttle and stop the engine wuld shut off, now i cant even get the thing to start at all and i have all the needles at stock and ive been priming it the way the manual says and stuff, was just wondering what i might be able to do to fix it, mayb get some new batteries?
If it turns right …
If it turns right then no. Look at the servo. You may not have "straight ahead" set for the center of the servo. You might also have binding or something in the steering line.
thx dude

can it be the batteries?
thanks i fixed it

Is the piston …
Is the piston moving? Is the flywheel on tight? Is the engine primed? Do you have a good glow plug and all batteries charged? Do you have too much or too little compression?
hey does anyone …
hey does anyone know why my dragster wont start on a starter box the fly wheel is turninng but it wont start
Oh wow!!! Geez, …
Oh wow!!! Geez, thanks for the info! I have been in the hobby for over 15 years and had no idea what a carb was! Thank you!!
FYI- The HSN nozzle that allows fuel into the carb and needle is referred to as an…. *INLET* and if you watch the vid, then that is where the fuel is going and where to watch for the fuel.
The vid is correct and so is the terminology. Sorry bud!
just so you know it …
just so you know it is called a carbeurator, not an inlet. LOL
Hello! There are …
Hello! There are several ways to prime. The blowing method will work on any style of starter. If you are using a ez starter or bump box then cover the tip of the pipe, use the starter, and then stop when the fuel touches the inlet to the HSN.
Also, keep in mind that a good cooling head, rich settings, and anything else that will put it into a rich "cant get heat right away" environment will delay starting. For that, preheat with a hair dryer or heat gun.
wow dude ur a god …
wow dude ur a god at nitro engines dude plz reply to me how i can get my hpi savage s-25 pull start engine to start it decently tuned but my truck wont start it not flooded fully charged glow ignitor but how u said to start it by blowing into that tube is that the real only good way to prime ur engine casue on my gas tank it has a primer should i use it or ur way?
