I agree 100%. The …
I agree 100%. The video was more for visual effect while the majority of sound samples used were recordings on my mobile. I have since repeated the speed runs flying straight and level. The results were between 172 and 187 km/h depending on the battery pack I used. But yes, the technique when using doppler is very important if you want close approximations to true speed. Thanks for watching :)

You really need to …
You really need to fly straight and level in order to get a good doppler. Cutting the throttle too early or pulling up like you do will skew the results. It will make you rreadings higher than your actual speed…

Your actual speed was a little slower I'm sure…

Because of the …
Because of the altitude we fly at (5200 feet above sea level) any prop under 5 inches doesn't give enough thrust. I use a 5.5 x 4.5 for my 3800kv setup, as on this video, and a 6 x 5.5 for my 2700kv set-up on my other video. Current draw on both set-ups is about 40A. I used a 5×5 prop on some of the footage (warm-up scene) but this didn't give great results due to limited thrust. Hope this helps. Have fun flying!
