Mig 29 RC Jet Crash at Florida Jets 2008
A Composite ARF Mig 29 Jet Collides with a Foamy Toy RC Jet at the 2008 Florida Jets Meeting in Lakeland, Florida. The jet's engines initially had a flame out, then were restarted and it took off normally. It was coming around for the first pass when the collision occurred. The Mig 29 was heavily damaged and crashed shortly after due to a severed fuel line. The Foamy toy A4 jet was completely destroyed.

oh well the migs …
oh well the migs pilot was at fault and he payed more dearly for his mistake than the supposed "TOY" foamy A4 pilots did
well that sucks, …
well that sucks, but if you cant laugh when it crashes you spent more than you should have on it.
Great camera work …
Great camera work there bob
No Traffic pattern! …
No Traffic pattern!, I only flew 2 model airplanes and I was by myself. The traffic patterns go in the same direction of the takeoff parahlel to the runway. It seems the mig was on a demo flight, but still he took off half looped and wnet against the traffic direction,as a matter of fact the foamy was in the traffic pattern the mig was against traffic.
It could have been …
It could have been a lot worse… how about to $40k planes crashing?
Why was he flying …
Why was he flying opposite the pattern?
actually the jet …
actually the jet would be the one that is meant to be in the air, not the foamy. The $40k jet would be the one which is getting shown off at the jet show, not the toy foamy.
Just because you …
Just because you own the big wanker toy does not giveth you control of the sky. You should be asking the above of the organisers of the day. And yes I agree that two different craft should not be in the air like that but ffs dont be an "I own the skies cause my toy costs more" wanker.
LOL - what are the …
LOL - what are the chances of that happening. oh well thats 2 unhappy nerds right there.
my uncle owns RTI …

Well, regardless of …
Well, regardless of what you say, all of our planes are toys, but that was definitely unfourtunate. The A-4 should not have been allowed up in the air with the Mig, but what were the odds of a mid-air with only two planes in the air.
That sucks!
Saw it happen there …
Saw it happen there! Pretty incredible, foamy was totally destroyed, like someone threw confetti in the air, they were looking for servo's and other parts of the foamie for at least an hour.
That $100 foamie …
That $100 foamie bouncing around in the wind should NEVER had been allowed to fly during that time slot, at a major international jet event.
Is that a common …
Is that a common thing when a 30k plus aircraft is in the air to send up a 100.00 foamy? I would not think too kindly of the foamy pilot.
