The gears are screwed onto the plane using…screws
Also there is not enough space in the plane's wings to hide the gears. So the best you could do is retract the gears close to the wings. Not much worth it

The plane is ready to fly (RTF) - Not sure of the buoyancy though -=). I think it's a good ducted fan plane to start with once you've learned on a trainer.
