How to make an RC plane in Mr. Herbert's Science class.

In just under 4 hours, leftover parts were used to make a neat RC airplane as demonstrated in Mr. Herbert's Science Class.
It's called "The Junkyard Dog".

Using mostly COX airplane parts from models gone by the wayside, I'll show you how I made mine with no plans or a kit.
Tired of the noise and mess of my full size airplanes, and since electrics have come a long way, I've become intrigued by them.
So needing a break from all the muss and fuss of the full size, gas RC planes, I decided to try to make my own electric plane, with what I learned the hard way over the years.

Let's see if I learned anything, and hopefully, if you decide to make one too, you will get some insight from this video.
Thanks a lot for watching.

See my movie on "Learn to fly for $55". That plane is very cool and the phone number is in the video as to where to get one.

Thanks for the …
Thanks for the comments. This is about as simple as it gets. The Japanese plane is a Flatouts Zero. It only cost me $19, and I have a couple of vids on it. Best bet is to watch my video "learn to fly for $55" for the cheapest, best flying plane that is ready to go and really great fun. Unless you have a radio, like I did in the above vid, you will spend more than that to make your own.

Can you show me how …
Can you show me how to make a fairly simple propeller plane, with a very low price, and instructions simple enough for a teen-ager? Please?
Oh, and nice vid! I like the japanese plane, what was it? A zero? Kate? Hayabusa?

NightFlyyer @ 12:00 am

Great. If you go …
Great. If you go tomorrow to the Sioux Falls Center for Active Generations, I will be there from 8 to 11 flying indoor demos, and also will have my camera on my Blade 400 heli. You should come by and wave to the camera for my next video. You can see how these Cessnas and Citabrias fly. Tomorrow, is Saturday the 19th, in case you missed it.

nice plane. I have …
nice plane. I have a super cub and but I have only flown it twice because I keep making up exuses not to fly but I will most likely go this weekend and then when I get better at flying I will most likely call Donovan and get the micro cessena. thank you very much for the inspiration.

Cox (Japan) somehow heated the wings to make a glaze then applied a plastic layer. They are pretty neat wings for about 15 years old.

what they put on the wings, something likeplastic

NightFlyyer @ 12:00 am

I had them, but you …
I had them, but you can buy a whole setup with transmitter, receiver and battery for under $75. Then you can use them over and over again, like I do. Try Hitec RCD's single stick 3 channel Radio for rudder elevator, and throttle functions for the cheapest good radio.

Lots of broken …
Lots of broken airplanes, to have enough parts left over! Ha ha. You can buy foam-board and a radio and motor for about 75 bucks and just keep using the motor and radio in different designs you make from the foamboard.
