Normally I would agree w/ you, but this plane is "set up" as a slow flying trainer w/ wing droops and a three bladed prop.
The droops make a difference in handling, It also comes w/ "Air brakes" in the gear. BUT, I used a sim BEFORE my maiden, AND a good flight instructor>:) I just soloed too soon!

Crashmaster, this plane would not make a good trainer for people just getting into rc airplanes. I'm self taught, been flying for 20 years, this would make a good 2nd or 3rd plane. Your landing approaches and landing prove my comment. Overall you did good.

Good luck, try flying w/ a better sim. It REALLY helped me. By the way, the instructors who taught me to fly took the Air brakes off before my first flight. It makes it fly TOO slow. You may want to consider setting it up w/out them. I also went to a 2 blade prop right away. Thanks for watching!

Just bought my first PTS P51, They do come with a simulator for 399.00 and you use the actual JR controller. Can't quite figure out how to land it yet.Handles much differently than my X-Tra Easy and Alpha. Good luck and happy flying.

Thanks, I've got much better w/ the Mustang since this video, I got the flap servo in now…much much, much slower approaches.

extend your base …
extend your base leg a little bit more away from the runway. Slow turn onto base at a lower altitude. Also decrease the throttle a little earlier. You are coming in too hot.

Thanks, I do have a simulator. Seems like the landing is the real trick.

Buy a simulator if you can. It's well worth the money. Crash all you want a just press "reset".

I enjoyed your video. I think you are doing fine just need more practice landing. If not already doing so, don't forget to use rudder when landing in crosswinds and the PTS can land a lot slower than what you were trying even without the flaps. It's a good plane. Thanks for posting.
