HobbyZone Super Cub - First Flight Ever
This is my first flight ever on an RC (radio controlled) plane and I'm flying a HobbyZone Super Cub. This is also my first YouTube video. I have never flown any kind of plane before but I did log 20 hours of flight time on the FS One flight simulator to learn take-offs, landings, and other maneuvers. I would highly recommend anyone looking to get into RC to buy as their first purchase, a simulator. It will save you hours in the learning curve and hundreds of dollars. On my first flight I was able to take-off from the ground and land confidently in 4-7 mph of gusty wind. Special thanks to FS One's in-sim flight training lessons. Enjoy!
This Super Cub has been modified with:
- Spektrum AR6200 Radio for 2.4ghz DX7
- New 3-wire servos
- GWS ESC/BEC for LiPo power system
- 3S 11.1V 2100mah LiPo batteries
- specially modified fuselage to fit the new power system

Yea, I have no ACT on this plane. I tore it out as one of the first mods I did to this plane. I actually use a Spektrum AR6200 so the stock ESC/RX unit was sold on eBay a long time ago. : )

just type in "fms download" into google and download it from there, your also going to need a usb cable for your transmiter, get one off ebay for a fiver and if not buy a sim with the transmiter included for like £20. like this for example for a tenner of ebay GAMERBIRD R/C Flight Simulator. just browse on ebay for more.

where i fly the ol super cub we have a huge backyard which makes for great flying. Thanks for the vid. seems like everybody who gets these cubs crashes em right away. flight sims help a ton. I used fsone and now im up and flying 3d planes and giant scales.

Isn't technology amazing! I recently went out and bought the FS One r/c flight simulator and it really feels like the real thing. I'm used to flying high wing trainers in the past 15 to 20 yrs ago but now i feel like i'm ready to take on more sporty low wing planes using this simulator. It's an awesome flight simulator that is well worth the money!

Good luck! I think the H9 P51's are beautiful … both the PTS and the 60 and the 150 size are all super lookers. I think if you can fly it well in the sim, you'd be in good shape. Make a video too!

wow! now thats what im talkin bout! ive never flown a plane, i have flown the blade cp heli! however i have flown all crafts in rel flight g3.5. its really easy in the sim! ive never flown a plane EVER!!!! im going to buy the h9 p51 mustang rtf. as my first plane! i just really dont have the money to buy , ohh wait,,,i flew a rc vamp! lol if that counts..you inspire me dawg! good flying!
