Iif you are a beginner is it better to start with an rc helicopter or a rc airplane ?
real airplane
References :
RC helicopters for several reasons.
They are smaller, cheaper and you can practice in a small area (inside your home)
After you get more experience, then jump to planes. Still, I am bias towards helicopters.
Have fun!

rc helicopter would be better if you have a confined amount of space
personally i would pick an rc airplane as these generally work better than the rc helicopters
References :
If you have the room for a flying field, go for the
airplane. They are more forgiving than Helios.
A confined area would dictate the helicopter.
Get someone who knows what is happening to
help you. Also get an AMA license, mainly for the
insurance. Most flying fields require you to have one.

Start with a simulator.

To be honest with you, I don't know. I've heard that plains are a whole lot easier to start out with. However, I bought an Air Hogs Havoc Heli for 30 bucks, it's a helicopter, and it's really fun.

i found it easier to fly planes than helis. I have flown planes for the last 10 years, bought a heli, u need quick reflexes, and a lot of coordination with a heli, a plane in my opinion is more forgiving becasue there is a lot less to think about to control it. And definately go with an electric powered model if u r a beginner, lot less maint. involved with electric

Whatever you think is best. They are both completely different aircrafts. What you are asking right now is, which is easier to driver? the motorcycle or the car? Its the same thing here. Either way you have to start out small with a toy aircraft, not a hobby grade one. If you start out with a helicopter, pick up a Air Hogs Havoc at your local walmart, target, toys r us, and start flying to get you used to the controls. Or even a Air Hogs Helix/ Reflex (both are same). If you are going into airplanes, pick up a Air Hogs Aero Ace, or Air hogs, F-16. The reason I like the air hogs, is that all their fuselages (body) is made of foam. Its almost impossible to break. I have a whole line of aircrafts from airplanes to helicopters at home. All of the ones I just listed also. Now that I feel more confident, I got the hobby grade aircrafts and I barely crash them. I wouldnt suggest a simulator though. They are too expensive to begin with. Plus if you find you don't like it, its a waste of $100+ Hope my information helpped.
