Radio Control IL-62M First Flight

Test flight of my new plane, made from the plans of Norbert Rauch. Wing Span is 106" fuse lenght is 131" weight aprox 35lbs. Powered by 4 Schubler fans 4 Lehner 1530-11 Hi-Amp motors, 4CC Phoenix 80 SC and 4 6s 5200 Mah lipo's … each fan producing 1150 watt's at 55amps. Take-off, Flight & Landing where completed without the use of flaps.

Lol, this is a very beautiful RC aircraft you made. I loved the engine sound too, sorta sounds like the IL-62 when miniturized too (the NK-88s on it have a specific sound.)Great job on this beautiful RC plane! :D

Really nice plane and excellent take off and landing.. What sort of batteries are inside it? Am I right in thinking EACH fan draws 55A ? So total current consumption would have been 220A!??

I use four fans, …
I use four fans, and I didn't find it hard to fly once I trimmed it out … I was more nervouse than anything due to cost and time invested.

Time into this …
Time into this project is just under one year. There is still some detail work to do(ie lights, brakes, gear doors, tail wheel, panel lines etc.)
